Soto informed us that our ragged, heat-damaged ends were beyond repair and urged lopping off three inches (about two more than we wanted). We nervously consented, but quickly came around when we noticed how the shorter length and imperceptible layers made our strands appear fuller.

Bio
It was while attending a theater program at CalArts that a fifteen-year-old Angela Soto realized that she would rather be backstage than onstage. After graduating from the Paul Mitchell school and completing a one-year apprenticeship at The CREW in Costa Mesa with a veteran Vidal Sassoon team, she set her sights on New York. Here, Soto assisted at Warren Tricomi, spent two years at Bumble and Bumble including time backstage at Fashion Week alongside Laurent Phillipon, Jimmy Paul and Guido Palau, and another two years at Mizu where she met one of her biggest influences, Oribe. She has also worked on shoots for magazines like Nylon, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, and Shape; styled celebrities including The Strokes and Lady Gaga; and contributed to ad campaigns for Target and Foley + Corinna. Besides the hairstyles of her two favorite decades, the '80s and '20s, Soto is most inspired by the expressive spirit of downtown New York which she believes is exemplified by the staff at the Whittemore House salon.
