Chantell Carrtherol
For stylist Chantell Carrtherol, it all started with Shirley Temple. Growing up in the Bay Area, she spent hours with a Marcel iron on the stove trying to recreate the intricate 'dos she saw in the curly-haired icons' films. Convinced that she wanted to pursue a career as a stylist, Carrtherol would braid, cut and relax any head of hair she could get her hands on. She trained for four years in San Francisco, two of them under the tutelage of Michelle Snyder at diPietro Todd Salon, before arriving at Whittemore House Salon, and working alongside Coby Alcantar, who she says is responsible for helping her strike a balance between art and technique. Carrtherol finds the most inspiration in nature, the transformative wig work of Julien Dys, and the classic precision cutting of Vidal Sassoon. She is thrilled to be a part of the team at Whittemore House where she has been cultivating a devoted curly-haired clientele.
