Larry Raspanti
Larry Raspanti
A lifelong New Yorker, Larry Raspanti has been in the business of color for more than a decade. Though it was his mother who first encouraged him to pursue a career in hair, and would often offer up her own locks for practice purposes, the turning point came when, while waiting for an appointment at the dentist’s office he came upon an article about Oribe. Soon after, he would be working for him.

Larry began his career at Oribe’s midtown salon, before moving on to Bumble and bumble and then to Sally Hershberger’s in the Meatpacking district where he spearheaded the color program. After being wooed back for another stint at Bumble and bumble, he decided to branch out on his own opening the Whittemore House Salon with his colleague, friend, and frequent collaborator, Victoria Hunter, in 2009.

His work has been featured in a variety of magazines, from Vanity Fair to Allure, Rolling Stone to Sports Illustrated, and on the hit television series Law & Order. Annie Leibowitz, Platon and Byan Adams have all used his talents on shoots, and his celebrity clients include Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and a number of top models who have come to rely on him for color corrections.

Larry has embraced his new leadership role at Whittemore. He continues to derive inspiration not only from his creative staff, but peers like Michael Gordon, Giulian Dees, Annie Humphreys and Raymond Mclaren, and the city he has always called home.
